A small private resort set on a sheep station in outback NSW. Burrawang is a contemporary interpretation of the Australian Homestead tradition.

The building forms are based on the typologies found in a traditional homestead: main house, cottages, shearing sheds, haysheds and barns. They are grouped in clusters according to their function and sited in an oasis of cultivated gardens which provide a transition zone between the homestead and the vast rural landscape. The main homestead enjoys a commanding view over the property. The other groups of buildings are located in direct response to the opportunities presented by the site. The resulting composition of buildings in the landscape is picturesque.
