The new Asian galleries allows the AGNSW’s permanent collection of Asian Art to expand, and provides a world class space for traveling exhibitions.

The interior design of the gallery was flexible to accommodate the curatorial and technical demands for the display of the permanent collection of Asian Art and a wide range of temporary exhibitions, from Traditional Art to Contemporary installations.

The plan allows for easy subdivision of the gallery and for paid entry queuing.

The project includes a restaurant and café, the conservation laboratories and offices and the conversion of existing space into additional temporary exhibition gallery.
